Valkyrie
I held the reflector :D fionaquinn: This shoot has come out in M2 woman mag so now I can post the rest of it! This was a very cold day in the mountains in Sydney we were all wearing ski jackets apart from the poor model Elin. With rain threatening and the kind of cold that makes your bones squeak we shot this editorial as quickly as we could before driving to a warm pizza place and clutching...

Petition to make "Hella" the prefix for... →
abbyjean: A petition to make Hella- the official SI prefix for 10^27, for measuring things bigger than Yotta- (the prefix for (US) billion trillion). For instance: ‘the sun (mass of 2.2 hellatons) would release energy at 0.3 hellawatts.’ It would also come in handy for eventually measuring Internet traffic and US national debt. This needs to happen.

Web Design at the University Level
Leslie Jensen-Inman has published a great article on web design at a higher education level on A List Apart. There are great quotes from people in the industry, and unfortunately what they are saying is just so true. During my design degree, the extent of our web design education was an optional class named “Interactive Hypermedia” where we learned to use DreamWeaver, and optional...

OpenFrameworks
I’ve just come from a workshop with Joel Gethin Lewis and Karsten (from Toxi) which covered openFrameworks and Processing in more depth than their presentations at Semi Permanent. Basically, they are both doing amazing stuff, and I’m keen to get back into learning Processing as well as starting to learn openFrameworks. Watch this video, and you’ll understand why! made with...

The Wire Launch Party
So, it wasn’t quite an exhibition, like I thought in my last post! Last night I was lucky enough to attend the launch party for the New Zealand blog site The Wire, held at one of Croydon’s studios on New North Road. The Wire is a place for people to visit and read about the lives of interesting New Zealanders. The Wire represents a wide array of New Zealanders, from different...

Threaded Magazine Launch
I had to go to Unitec last week to drop in my contract as I’m doing some work there for the rest of this semester. While I was there, I thought I’d have a look around — it was quite weird as I don’t know anyone there anymore! Anyway, while looking around I noticed an exhibition going up in Snow White gallery, and saw one of my old tutors — it turns out that issue...
